Each year the Ski Club organises a number of holidays for its members. We also invite non-members to join us, provided they take out basic membership.
Holidays 2010.
Courchevel
The first club holiday was held as usual in Courchevel from Jan 16th - 23rd January. To download a memoir of the holiday click here.
Bad Hofgastein
The second holiday will be in Bad Hofgastein from Feb 20th, staying in the Hotel Palace. The hotel has a very good reputation and get this – with your evening meal you have unlimited free beer, wine or soft drinks !!!!!. Our President Mary McAleese has stayed in the hotel. The basic price for half board hotel and flights will be circa €800, which is a very competitive price due to applying club and group size discounts. Obviously, lift pass, ski rental and ski tuition are extra.
As was the case last year, the holiday will cater for all grades of skier from rank beginner, through intermediate and advanced to instructor and even past Presidents. Most (but not all) of those who went to Zell on club holidays enrolled in the Ski School. Others prefer to free ski – the choice is yours. We plan to have as good a time in 2010 as we did in 2009. We have taken a provisional booking of rooms with the tour operator and it is unlikely that we will get an increase. Of the 35 people who went last year, approx almost 20 have indicated they will probably go in 2009. So again if you are interested in going, please contact the office asap and put your €200 deposit down to secure your place.
The club goes to a lot of trouble to organise the holidays and this comes as part of the annual membership fee. If non-members are interested in coming on holiday, they are most welcome. Last year over twenty non-members came along on the holiday. To partake in the club holiday, non-members must take out membership (€80 single).
2009 Ski Club Holidays
The Ski Club had two holidays during the 2008/2009 season, Courchevel and Zell-am-See. Memoirs of both holidays are available for download.
